Sarah Thompsons' Desert Island Discs

3 things to take with you

  • Lifetime supply of Earl Grey tea and biscuits
  • A bathtub and bubble bath or bath bombs – for a relaxing soak! If I’m allowed to sneak in some candles too that would be fab!
  • A soft Welsh wool blanket from Melin Tregwynt to remind me of home and snuggle up with

Book

I love Dystopia as a genre and my favourite has to be Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. It’s such a visual book, I could picture every scene and the characters are so vivid, it’s about a travelling company of musicians and performers so it links into my arts background and I think that’s why it strikes a chord with me.

Music

This is such a hard choice as there are so many songs that have had significance for me at different parts of my life, but if I had to choose only one it would be ‘Uptown Funk’ as this is the song I dance to when doing kitchen discos with my sons and we all love it and dance around like loons which makes us all very happy.
