Carri Munn's Desert Island Discs
3 things to take with you
- A Gaggia coffee machine with an endless supply of Lavazza coffee. I adore coffee. I cannot live without it, and it is the only thing to get me out of bed in the morning…
- My Kindle – I love reading. I would need something to take me away from the desert island, and seeing as I’m not allowed a boat, countless books would transport my mind as I sit on the beach… working on my tan.
- A pair of running shoes – I have been running for ten years, and it’s the only exercise I really enjoy. It would give me the chance to go and explore the island, whilst keeping me fit. And I’d have to do something to work off all the coconuts I’d be scoffing.
Book
The Complete Writings of Nichiren Daishonin. These are a series of letters written by a 13th century Buddhist priest who encouraged his disciples through all sorts of challenges. It is an inspiring read as well as a fascinating document of 13th century Japan.
Music
Are You Lonesome Tonight? – the funny version – by Elvis Presley. I am a huge fan of The King. In this version, Elvis gets the giggles, and it has me in stitches. Without anyone else around to have a laugh with, this would be my track of choice, as it combines the two biggest loves of my life – Elvis and laughing.
